It’s been what?…six or seven weeks since I started this challenge with Lose It Bitches. You can find them here, if you are interested in
Seriously…I have just about had it. I can’t seem to stay on track. I’m not talking about sneaking a miniature Hershey bar here or there. I am talking about eating everything in sight!! I swear, if it’s there then I will eat it.
Yesterday I really had a low point. From the time I got home at 3pm this is what I ate. (yes, I logged it because that is what is supposed to be helpful):
- handful of pretzels
- 4 pringles
- a yogurt with granola
- 2 Hershey’s kisses
- baked chicken breast WITH the skin
- cauliflower and cheese sauce (yum!!)
….step back….do not touch another item…..
This was good. This was a nice way to say “WTF are you doing you fatass???” Her next text was….
….wow…you are pregos…
THIS was bad…very bad. Shame on her for even thinking such a thing!! All I said was KILL ME NOW!!
Come on people…no way could I be “pregos” because my doc promised that he tied my tubes with the last
Seriously now…I absolutely need to stop it with the excuses. I CAN do this. I just need a better plan. I need to write out my meals. Yeah…that should help. See, right now I just go with the flow because that is all I have time for. I wake up, grab my coffee and head to the shower. By the time I am out I have to wake up the tween, get dressed, maybe start a load of laundry that I can rewash later in the week because I will forget to put it in the dryer, wake the tween again, deal with the 3 year old that thinks she needs to be up at the crack of dawn, wake the tween for a third or fourth time…..
….and on and on it goes. By the time I think of eating something, the sitter is there and I haven’t eaten so I shovel a handful of pretzels in my mouth and it’s out the door. This sucks!!
I usually don’t bring a lunch. If I do, I forget about it and just bring it back home with me. Sometimes I will get an oatmeal from Caribou along with my White Chocolate Mocha No Whip Please which is not horrible for a lunch. Sure beats fast food!!
For dinner it’s been hit or miss. Seriously….I feed the kids and that’s about it. The poor spouse has to find something on his own because my brain is fried and by that time I just have nothing left to give.
This is crazy, yes?? And have I said how much it SUCKS????
So, I am going to take the time to write out a meal plan and eat only what is on my plan. I am going to concentrate on my water intake too. In fact….this is fun….I found an iPod app that helps you track your water intake!! Cool, huh?? It’s called “Water your Body”!!
Ok..that is NOT my weight on that screen shot!! Although mine is not much better, it’s still less than that. I am currently at 168 and that’s with a zero loss in the past week. I’m down 6 pounds from when I started…6 or 7 weeks ago….that SUCKS!!
Also, my exercise has been nil. You heard me…..NIL!! I cannot seem to walk away from the toddlers. The spouse is not helpful…bottom line…he is happiest when I’m the one taking care of them. So how do I exercise with 2 toddlers interfering?? I am going to have to find a way some how….some where….I HAVE to….
So there you have it…my drama with my weight loss…or lack there of. Again, I KNOW I can do this. I just have to keep telling myself that.
I hope those of you who are trying to lose it, are losing it…those of you who have lost it….congrats….and those of you who are on the verge of MENTALLY losing it…you are not alone!! I’m the head of that club!!

Hey Terry. Take a deep breath! You are not failing by any stretch of the imagination. I have fallen off the wagon, too. and truly it is all because of lack of planning.
Yesterday, I gave up on my 30 Day Shred Level 1 workout less than 5 minutes in because I didn't have the energy... Talking about feeling like a lazy bitch.
What day do you do your grocery shopping? Do you make a list before you go? Do you do the coupon cutting thing? This is the best time to plan meals for the week. And stop buying the crap snacks and start buying the good for you snacks. The hubby may not be so thrilled, but your shorties will thank you in the long run! This is a lifestyle change, not a diet! It takes time!
I wish I was down to 169 like you.
I remember when my sister was in nurse's training, she got an A+ on meals because she copied what my mother did.
But that was over 40 years ago and meat and potatoes and veggie w/butter were considered good eating.
And then having them again in a stew was really good too.
You gotta get the snacks out of the house or at least out of sight somehow. Put celery and carrots in their place.
Good luck. You can do it.
Don't get discouraged. We all get off track and hungry sometimes. YOU CAN DO THIS!
Ok, I have to say this...your list of food doesn't sound like a whole lot to me.
Yeah yeah the hershey kisses and pringles you could have totally done without...but seriously 2 hershey kisses? You need to be commended for your restraint woman.
I got on the scales this morning expecting to be up at least 2 or 3 pounds...this week included McDonalds, baked pastries and a whole lot of goofing off. I'm down 1.5. I give up trying to figure out the scales.
Whatever you do, don't give up! Take a deep breath, remember that you have already lost weight and you just need to get yourself back into a routine. Then brief ALL of your friends and family to support you, ie - if they see you reaching for a snack, crash tackle you and don't let you eat it. Is there any chance to get up half an hour early and go for a walk before your day starts? Good luck with getting back on the horse!
I am so a member of your club.
Oh boy, I hear you. I think you are definitely on track by putting together a meal plan. I think that structuring your meals and planning ahead and having healthy snacks on hand when you are ready to lose it will help.
good luck, we are all cheering for you and want you to succeed!
You may be the head of that club, but I, my dear, am the EMPEROR of said club!!! lol!
Hang in there, don't give up!
Chasing toddlers is exercise in itself.
My bestie and I were talking about feeling pregnant right now. Even though both of our dhs had snip-snips. But, neither has gone back and been tested. And they had the sae doctor. What if that doctor sucks at the big V? OMG.
Mmmmm, cheese sauce.....Mmmmmmmm chicken with delectible crunchy and savory skin....What was the point of your post? LOL
OMG honey I am soooo very sorry for saying are you pregos!!! I really am!! Normally you are the one that brings that up. LOL This weekend we are doing Just Dance your basement AND Pete will watch the kids!!!! No tweens down there either!! Luv all 168 of ya!! xoxoxo
weight watchers always works for me, and the money is wort it. you know the old adage- if mom's not happy no one is! its worth it! im telling you!
i feel ya though. feeling out of control about weight is so discouraging. you can do it though! do your best and forget the rest1
OK here's my advice. Plan your meals. Know what you are going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And snacks too.
Also I have found that Slim Fast meal bars are the best thing for me in the morning. No cooking, and you can eat them in the car. Try to eat within an hour of waking up. That will get your metabolism going.
Try and stay focused! Remember- you are NOT dieting. It's a lifestyle change. Its hard. But you can do it!!
You can do this!!! You already have! Park your kids in hubbys lap and run to the tredmill.
Terry, you have about 3 months before you have to put on the string bikini. Relax! You have time! One good way to lose weight is to commit a crime (preferably a minor one) and the stress from seeing if you'll get caught will work that weight right off. You could also start cheating on your husband or duh, your taxes! Those are good ones too!
Okay, just throw away the pringles and kisses! You'll get there! (But my way is quicker.)
