It’s a constant aggravation around here….paying bills.  I honestly wonder where the money is going to come from sometimes.  My spouse has never really looked at the bills, he only sees me or better yet, he HEARS me banging on the desk, howling like a skinned raccoon, and crumpling up bills  paper that I no longer feel like dealing with  have a need for.  He has said on more than one occasion that we should sit and do them together.  WHAT??!  That is Just. Not. Feasible.
Therefore, Post-It Note Tuesday and my on-going saga regarding the bill-paying brings you this:

So, have you heard of Ashton Drake Galleries?  They have collectible baby dolls.  Yes, I fell for them a few years ago but at the time I thought I was purchasing ONE baby doll.  No….apparently I signed up for a “Collection” of baby dolls.  You pay for one and they ship it…with a bill attached.  You pay the bill and they send you another one with another bill attached…hmmm….pretty tricky, huh?  So, I stopped paying, I tried to cancel further shipments without success….
The bill went to collections.  So, I paid the bill not wanting anything in collections.  2 weeks later I got another baby doll!!  WTF??  So….I’m done with them…period.

Can I Freeze Time?

Today I had quite a shocking deer in the headlights kind of realization…it was certainly an eye-opener for me.  Yes, I am usually quite preoccupied with changing diapers, cleaning up chip crumbs off the floor and keeping the toddlers from seriously injuring each other…but DAMN!!  When the hell did my tween grow boobs??

Now listen….I know she’s been growing, and last week was her first visit from Aunt Martha….ok, you may know her as Aunt Flo, but she’s always been Aunt Martha to me.  She’s never been much of a girlie-girl. (My tween, not Aunt Martha)  She’s mostly been into playing with caterpillars, or using her metal detector to find treasures in the front yard, or even going to the creek and fishing…all on her own.

Last birthday she turned 12.  Her sweetness is still there although often it’s hidden beneath the raging adolescent hormonal swings.

She hasn’t had a boyfriend yet.  She says, “I don’t know who likes me.”  She has said, “Don’t worry, Mom…I like boys…”  Yikes!

She still gets the giggles with her BFF over silly stuff which is good in my eyes.  There is no reason to grow up too quickly.  In fact, if she chose to play with babydolls instead of “meeting up with friends” I would be ecstatic!!

She can put her step-father in his place faster than I can account for why there are 25 empty Caribou cups in my garage!!  The thing is, when she is putting him in his place, she’s usually correct!!  Ohhhhh, how scary that is!  And quite awkward for me if I might add.

She’s a great kid….honestly.  I’m not just saying that because she’s mine.  She has been through more than any 12 year old should have to go through.

She was 3, almost 4, when I lost my baby, Nathan, at 36 weeks gestation.  After all the pumping up of her to be the big sister and how awesome that was going to be….WHACK!  All of it taken away in an instant…for no reason.  And if anyone ever tells you that she would have been too young to even remember or understand what was going on at the time…they are wayyyyy wrong!  She got it…she understood….and her little heart grieved right along with mine.

And if you think she forgot about it easily because she was so young….think again, because several short months later we were driving and she hollers out, “Look, Mommy!!!  Up there!!  It’s my Nathan in the sky, flying with angels!!!”  And she meant every flippin word she said.  Absolutely amazing….

She’s lost pets…the first one she lost was her hamster…well, ok, so she basically smooshed the life out of him herself, but that’s neither here nor there.  (shhhhh…..don’t ever repeat that because she was young enough that I did not want her to have that on her conscience!)  She’s lost another hamster since then….well, sort of…..he remains in a box in the freezer downstairs because it was winter when he died so the ground was too frozen to bury him (in 2006)………ohshutup….

tippy

She’s also lost 2 dogs, one of which was the head of her “club” when she was 4 years old.  She lost her Grandmother, my mother,  when she was 6 years old.  This was her “Bammy Mary”…and she will forever be missed.  She still talks about how her Bammy would rock her, and they would share “eye to eye” where they put their eyes real close and bat their eyelashes together.

The worst of all her losses occurred in 2005 (only 8 months after Bammy Mary passed away).  Her father was killed in a freak accident.  I won’t go into too much detail in this post, all I will say is that she was with me when we found him, and even though her brain was too young to truly understand what she was seeing, and even though she does not talk about the incident all that much, I am sure somewhere in her mind it’s there….and I hope and pray it won’t come out to bite her in her future.

All I can hope is that she can and does talk with me about her feelings and fears.  I know she is a strong person for having gone through what she’s been through.  Shortly after her father passed away I told her it was ok to talk about him, remember him…embrace the memories, so to speak.  Do you know what this sweet child said to me at that time??  She said, “I don’t have to talk about him.  He’s in my heart.  And I don’t want to make you sad.”

Tears are a good thing even when they come because of a loss.  They are a release of what you can’t put into words.  And that is what I hope my first born has come to learn.

We’ve had our ups and our downs but we’ve done it together.  We have a bond that cannot be broken…and cannot be compared to any other.

Yes, this is quite a sappy post, but today when she got home from school she was in her room for a while…not bothering anyone.  Apparently she was fixing her hair and make up, and came out looking like this:

IMG01104

Honestly…isn’t she gorgeous??  How did this happen??  WHEN did this happen??  Did it happen over-night??  I swear, just yesterday she looked like this:

IMG01108

Ok…maybe not…But I could swear about a month ago she looked like this:

IMG01110

My point is, I’ve been fighting with my laptop for several weeks now freezing up on me whenever it feels like it.  The correlation??  I would like for TIME to freeze…..NOT my freakin laptop!!

There are so many tragedies out there, and I am feeling blessed.  I have my first born…and now I have 2 toddlers….as a Mom all I can hope for is that I provide for them what is needed, and I’m not talking about material things.  I want them to know happiness and love and understanding and compassion….

I want them to grow up and know that I am always there for them no matter what happens.  I want them to look back on their childhood and know that when things weren’t all that great, it was for a reason.  When I had to say “NO!” it was for a damn good reason.  I hope they grow up, move out, and come back often for visits.  And most of all, I hope they don’t put me in a nursing home and forget about me I hope they learn to trust that my love for them is unconditional….forever and ever.

Hug your children today.  Play with them today.  Read them books even though they are asking you to read the same one over and over and over.  Slow down and take the time to color a picture with them.  And for Pete’s sake, take notice when they grow boobs so you aren’t as shocked as I was!!

Stickies!!!

Oh Thank the Man upstairs that is letting me work on my Post-It Note Tuesday post!!  I don’t know why my laptop is deciding to work at the moment, but I am not going to question it.  I’m just gonna do what I love…and that is to make stickie notes!!

A big whopping lick-your-face shout out to SupahMommy over at Adventures of a WannaBe SupahMommy who sponsors Post-It Note Tuesday!!  Click below to play along!!

post it notes
So, a few weeks ago I attempted writing stickie notes to the people that I would really like to pitch in around the house.  As you may have guessed, THAT did not work.  This week I’m going to take a different approach.  Ready??

You see where I’m going with this??

superstickies35

I know, this is a long shot, but come on, People…..if the spouse and the tween won’t follow directions, I might have a better chance with the inanimate objects….ya never know.

superstickies38

superstickies41

You see, any time I ask someone to clean something up, I get the big answer-fail of “I didn’t do it”.  Of course not!!  Absolutely not…..the tween would never leave crumbs on the chair in the living room where she was sitting doing her homework, NEVER!!!  Oh, what’s that??  That’s right….she didn’t SEE them fall….

And the spouse would never leave breadcrumbs on the counter after making a sandwich…he was “just coming back to clean them up” when he saw me already cleaning them up.  And he would never go to bed without helping clean up the kitchen because he was “just about to clean it up” when he saw that I already had it handled.

And as for the toddlers??  Well, I can’t really fault them for much, they are after all, still learning what they should or shouldn’t do.  But with the role models they have, I’m not sure they are going to learn the way I would prefer.  Like when the Dad gets them ready for bed (yes, he does pitch in at times) and does the manly thing of  “trying to make a basket” with their dirty clothes…yet misses….and leaves the clothes on the floor for the maid to pick up……Oh wait….we don’t HAVE A MAID!!!  You get the point??

superstickies45

Stop rolling your eyes!!  It’s true!!  I just have one more thing to say…

superstickies

….and she’s not coming back any time soon.  Sorry for your loss.

All About Me

Seriously, is it ever all about anyone??  Some people think so, therefore, after careful consideration, I have decided to make this week all about ME!!

I’ve slacked off on my diet which really pisses me off.  I know I can do it, so why don’t I??  This week I’m going to give my love to Lose It Bitches and work on my lifestyle changes.  No, silly, I am NOT giving up my White Chocolate Mocha No Whip Please, that would just be suicide!!  But I will watch everything else I put into my mouth.  I will also get on the treadmill which I am totally hating right now which makes me feel so much better about myself.

I will also shave my armpits. Yes,  I said SHAVE MY ARMPITS!!  I was showering this morning and realized I’ve been slacking off in that area too.

And let’s not even talk about the legs!  WTF??  It IS Winter, right??

So, maybe my spouse doesn’t agree with the gorilla look just because it’s winter, but ya know what??  If he wants to feel the smoothness on my body, he needs to quit dropping the ball and let me shave the areas that need shaving!!

Enuf said…

And what else shall I do for ME this week?  Well, most of you know that my laptop has taken a big whopping shit on me for the past 2 weeks.  It freezes up.  It doesn’t let me finish a blog post without saving the post every 2 minutes….otherwise when it freezes I lose my post.  Also, the K key has been worth shit since Little Man had decided to remove most of the keys and in the process he broke the clips on the back of the K.  Some of you know I’m working 2 jobs to make ends meet over here, and killing myself in the process.

Not that the spouse doesn’t do his share of working.  He does.  Yes, he does.  I swear he does!!  Ahhhhh….soooo trying to be nice here.   Seriously, he DOES!  Stop looking at me that way!!

Anywhooooo…..I NEED a new laptop.  I don’t want a very expensive one.  I would even settle for the kind that I had since I just spent $100 on a new and better battery for it.  Then I’m thinking I should get one that is a little better than the one that just lasted me a little over a year.  Yeah…that’s what I think I should do.  The spouse has been working on mine….without much success, and with a lot of bitching in the process.  So, what I’m thinking is that I will get ME a new one and let him have the old one and if by chance he succeeds in fixing the fucker, he can have it!!!

So, yes, I want to get me a new laptop.

The problem is…..

……for the first time EVAHHHHHH I’ve been told there are more important things that need to be paid first.  Huh???  Who says so???  Where the fuck does that nonsense come from???  I went to school, paid my own student loans off, worked every weekend while going to school, I have 2 jobs now….so WHAT if I fucked up by adding 3 more people to my little family of 2??  That’s not my fault!!!  It just happened!!  Like the immaculate conception or something like that……Geesh….look at all these babies……

I am just having a hard time with someone telling me what I WANT is not a priority.  Am I spoiled??  Fuck no!!!  I’m just insistent on what I want and when I want it I get it.  So there!!

I am not no prima-fucking-donna…..I swear.   And I’m certainly not famous….much…

PhotoFunia-389c11c
Therefore….bottom line is…I deserve a new laptop!!  Right??  Absolutely!  It’s not like I want it for free unless Apple would like to donate .  I just want to be able to do what I’ve been doing with my laptop without all the freezing up interruptions!!  Afterall, I get enough of my own interruptions!!

Sunshine?? For Me?

Awwwww….I’ve been given another award!!  This is my third, but I haven’t shared the second one yet.  Why?  Because it’s stuck in my laptop that is failing me.  Yes,  I have started a post on THAT computer only to be locked out at the moment and I refuse (because I can and because I’m in bitch mode) to rethink it or retype it.  So….here’s my third award!!

Me….feeling special!!

Now…what to do with this award…???  Oh yeah…there are some rules just like there is with everything in life…but don’t worry, it’s not that hard.  Here is what has to be done:

Ok, my dear friends…it’s taken several days to finish this….(stop laughing!)  If you only knew the drama I have to go through just to be able to have some Me-Time…it’s unbearable!!  So, I must say thank you again to Gregory over at Living My Life, Whatever….he really made my day by giving me the Sunshine Award.  Go on over and give him some love.  Oh, he can also be found at his other blog Day to Day!!

Motivation Needed

Alrighty now, let’s get with the program!!  What program you ask??  The one over at Lose It Bitches!!  That’s the PROGRAM!!

I swore I wasn’t going to give up.  I took the oath of lifestyle changes for Pete’s sake!!  I said I was going to lose weight, eat healthy, exercise 3 times a week and all the other crazy-ass shit I promised…….then………

Ahhh….then what happened?  I found myself fighting the spouse just so I could go downstairs sans kids and walk on the treadmill.  I found myself wanting to pummel the toddlers for having one foot on the Wii balance board as I’m trying to get “measured”.  I found myself sneaking an oreo cookie when no one was around because if no one sees it, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!!!  Right??

Wrong!!

Even though this past week I have a legitimate reason for not concentrating on my fucking diet  lifestyle changes….I was sick….sick as in when I blew my nose I thought half my brain had come out.  Sick as in I needed to put a hazardous waste bag in my car for all the snot rags.  But now I’m feeling better and I’m still not on track.  At least I am aware of that, right??

So, last week the weight lost was ZERO with a capital Z.  I absolutely can’t have this.  I will NOT accept this.  No way, no how!!  But how will I accomplish my goals?  Will I tie up the toddlers??

Will I threaten the spouse with no hanky panky if I don’t get to exercise??  Hmmmmm…..that might just work!

Regardless, I have to get back on track.  And I have to get back on the damn treadmill and hopefully not end up like this:

Is Your Washcloth missing?

I have almost given up on my computer!!  It seems to freeze up at the worst of times….you know, right when I’m just about done with a post but haven’t saved it yet??  yeah….
So, I am going to try to participate once again in What the Hell Wednesday which is sponsored over at  the Blue Monkey Butt.  Click below to play along!!

3988295973_2650b2eed0_m

I think my entire life is a series of “WHAT THE HELL??” Can you imagine having 2 toddlers, a tween and a spouse that most likely suffers from adut ADD?  That’s my life.

I admit that I have issues with needing to have everything in it’s place.  That goes for needing the silverware put away the way it should be, having the towels stacked just right in the linen closet, to having a dining room table that you can actually see…..well, that’s how I used to be.  Now……well, it seems I have lost the battle.  I find myself throwing the silverware in the drawer and where ever it lands is good enough for me.  I don’t care if there is shit all over the table as I sit here and blog…nope…doesn’t cause me not one bit of stress…and if you believe THAT, well, that’s awesome, because deep down I am a bundle of nerves.  I can just about lose my freakin mind with all the crap that is around this house.

Anyways, I’ve been trying to just let it go.  Come on, I tell myself, is it worth energy to fight with the tween to change her bra more than once a month??  Nahhh….you can LET IT GO….just breathe your way through it…..

Is it worth it to lose a nights sleep over the dirty clothes that are left on the spouse’s side of the bed….on the floor….in a pile….with shoes in the mix…..nahhhh…..LET IT GO…..life is not about the amount of laundry there is to do…it’s about what you were doing when the clothes got dirty in the first place right?

Is it necessary to have a massive coronary over the containers that fall out on to your head when you open the cupboard to put away yet another one of the 20 million Tupperware containers that have been collected?  Absolutely not!!  Just shove them back in and quickly close the door….as my 100% Sicilian spouse says quite often….FORGEDDABOUDIT!!!

But….THIS is where I draw the line.  I have so many many MANY pet peeves….and I’m really trying to tame it down a bit.  I swear…when the spouse leaves razor stubblies all over the bathroom sink right after I’ve cleaned it….I just wipe them up.  When the tween unfolds a blanket in the living room because she is chilly while waiting her 2 minutes for the bus to come, then leaves it jumbled up on the couch as she runs out the door….yep, I just fold the fucker for the thousandth time and be done with it.

BUT…..when each person in the house uses several washcloths for their bathing rituals, and the spouse uses several more on the toddlers’ bathing ritual and they are left like THIS day after day…..

IMG01073

….over and over and OVER……

WHAT THE HELL??????

Seriously….is this fucking necessary???  What do they think happens when you stack several hundred WET washclothes on a towel bar??  Do they think they might start to smell like something has become rotten in the bathroom?  Do they think that just maybe they will start to get rancid if someone doesn’t take them to the laundry room to get washed???  Who do they think removes them from the bathroom??  Of course, if we let them stay there long enough and keep on layering them ever so gently, the ones on the bottom will be able to get up and walk away…most likely carrying the others with them!!!

So, the washcloths are the pet peeve that I have yet to let go of.  It’s the daily thing that makes me utter “what the hell”….

I am sure with  just a little bit of counseling I might be able to get over this one too….and of course, that will just give me the opportunity to concentrate on another one that will piss me off even more…..like maybe the collection of sippy cups that I just removed from the toddlers’ bedroom?  Yeah….thank the good Lord they like to drink water and not something that spoils within a day!

So, if any one is missing any washcloths, I have plenty to spare…just gimme a call.  I am usually free after  7:15 a.m. when the tween gets on the bus.  Just be sure to call before 7:18 a.m because that’s when the toddlers are up and my free time is over.

Furthermore, I just fucking realized it’s THURSDAY and What the Hell Wednesday is OVER!!!  And I was proud that I was blogging and getting back on track here……

WHAT THE FREAKING HELL???????
